The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Streaking and Slumping Pitchers

Streaking

Carl Pavano (8-6, 3.64), Minnesota Twins

The mustache must be working for Carl Pavano. Minnesota’s right-hander is 3-0 in his last three starts and went at least seven innings in each. Pavano threw a complete game in his most recent outing, limiting the Phillies offense to four hits in a 4-1 victory.

“Pavano was fantastic,” Ron Gardenhire said after the game. “That’s an unbelievable lineup they have over there, but he kept them off balance and got his pitches over for strikes.”

Pavano and the Twins are +115 underdogs facing the New York Mets Saturday.

Clay Buchholz (10-4, 2.47), Boston Red Sox

Boston’s current ace shutout the Dodgers in his last start, giving up three hits over 6.2 innings of work for a 2-0 victory. Buchholz has won his last two starts and is 8-2 since early May.

“Just a maturing young pitcher,” manager Terry Francona said. “His stuff is so good, now that he’s got some repetition under his belt the game doesn’t speed up for him.”

Most of the Giants lineup has never seen Buchholz and the oddsmakers are well aware, making the BoSox a -155 favorite in San Fran on Saturday.

Slumping

A.J. Burnett (6-6, 4.83), New York Yankees

The wheels are falling off for New York starter A.J. Burnett. The righty has given up 23 earned runs in 20.0 innings pitched in June with only 13 strikeouts. In his last outing, Burnett was chased out of the game after only four innings after giving up three bombs in the first inning and seven runs overall.

"I don't feel like myself," Burnett said after the game. "I'm not having fun right now. Who would in a stretch like this? When you come out and take the air out of your team right away for a handful of starts, it gets quite frustrating. I'm going to keep plugging away.”

Burnett is 0-4 in four June starts and the Yankees are a pick ‘em (-110) against the Dodgers in L.A. Saturday.

Returning

Doug Fister (3-3, 2.45), Seattle Mariners

Fister was once the AL leader in ERA but has been on the disabled list since May 31 because of shoulder fatigue. Seattle manager Don Wakamatsu said that Fister will be on an 85-pitch count in his return Saturday.

Fister is a crafty righty that isn’t going to blow hitters away. He has a high ground ball rate and great control so his effectiveness comes from keeping hitters off balance. Fister was starting to get touched up a bit before going on the DL, yielding 10 runs over his last three starts.

Hot Lines: Today's best MLB bets

Boston Red Sox at San Francisco Giants (+140, 8.5)

When the Red Sox announced during the offseason the team was going to focus on pitching and defense, many expected the potent Boston lineup to regress.

"I didn't really understand the questions that we wouldn't have a good offense," Victor Martinez said. "We lost a good guy in Jason Bay. But because you lost one guy, it doesn't mean that your offense is completely lost.”

Falling behind the Rays and Yankees through the first two months of the season magnified Boston’s offensive struggles. After a resurgent June that has the Sox just two games out of first place, the team is leading MLB in runs, hits, RBIs and OPS.

"We're getting contributions from all over the map," said manager Terry Francona. "I think that's why you're starting to see more personality, more enthusiasm, more energy during the games.”

Going into Friday, the BoSox had plated 19 runs in their previous two games. San Francisco will be trotting out fresh mound meat, Joe Martinez who has only one start this season, and Boston should feast on the right-hander Saturday.

Pick: Over

Chicago Cubs at Chicago White Sox (-120, 9)

The clubhouse curse must have floated from the South Side of the Windy City to the North Side.

On a day that should have been uplifting with the return of third baseman Aramis Ramirez from the disabled list, starting pitcher Carlos Zambrano made it a gloomy one.

After giving up four runs in the first inning, the temperamental Zambrano laid into teammate Derrek Lee for not diving for a ground ball down the line. Big Z was seen screaming at the team and Lee and eventually the two players had to be separated by manager Lou Piniella and bench coach Alan Trammell.

Piniella sent Zambrano into the clubhouse and Tom Gorzelanny replaced him on the mound in the second inning. It looks as if serious repercussions will be administered.

"It's unacceptable behavior is what it is," Piniella said. "He was upset that some of our players didn't dive for those balls. He was ranting and raving and out of control. I had a discussion with our general manager to see what we do. I couldn't tolerate it."

Carlos Silva has been stellar this season for Chicago but a number this low backing a team with a 10-game win streak is a bargain. And with the state the Cubbies are currently in, the South Siders should take all three games from their counterpart in the Crosstown Classic.

Pick: White Sox

SOCCER NEWS AND NOTES
Knockout Notes
By Chris David

The knockout stage of the 2010 World Cup begins this weekend from South Africa, as 16 teams will look to advance to the quarterfinals. Group play concluded and only two countries, Argentina (4/1) and the Netherlands (13/2), were able to sweep through with three victories in three games. Along with the Spain (5/1) and Brazil (4/1), this pair of powerhouses is considered the top contenders to win the championship.

Even though this quartet lived up to their expectations during group play, we did see some clubs fail and fail miserably. France (16/1) was probably the biggest disappointment, and Italy (11/1) didn’t do much better as the defending champion. Bodog had the Ivory Coast as the top team from Africa and it couldn’t advance to the knockout stage as well.

According to Bodog, the biggest longshots still left are Japan (66/1) South Korea (125/1) and Slovakia (200/1). All three countries had odds as high as 200/1 or more when the opening odds were announced.

Here is a closer look at the future odds for the final 16 teams.

Brazil 4/1
Argentina 4/1
Spain 5/1
Netherlands 13/2
Germany 11/1
England 12/1
Uruguay 14/1
Portugal 18/1
USA 33/1
Paraguay 33/1
Chile 40/1
Ghana 40/1
Mexico 50/1
Japan 66/1
South Korea 125/1
Slovakia 150/1

Let’s take a closer look at this week’s knockout matchups.

Saturday, June 26

Uruguay vs. North Korea
Group Results

Uruguay 0 France 0 - Draw
Uruguay 3 South Africa 0 - Win
Uruguay 1 Mexico 0 - Win

South Korea 2 Greece 0 - Win
South Korea 1 Argentina 4 - Loss
South Korea 2 Nigeria 2 – Draw

Betting Notes: Uruguay has been listed as a short favorite (-120) over South Korea (+350). Gamblers looking for the draw after 90 minutes can earn a modest return of plus-230 (Bet $100 to win $230). Uruguay has watched the ‘under’ cash in two of its three group play matches while the ‘over’ was 2-1 in South Korea’s three preliminary games. The total is listed at 2 ½ goals, with the ‘under’ shaded to minus-200. Uruguay and South Korea have met four times and Uruguay has captured all four encounters.

USA vs. Ghana
Group Results

USA 1 England 1 – Draw
USA 2 Slovenia 2 – Draw
USA 1 Algeria 0 – Win

Ghana 1 Serbia 0 – Win
Ghana 1 Australia 1 - Draw
Ghana 0 Germany 1 – Loss

Betting Notes: After barely surviving group play, USA will face yet another test against Ghana, the lone African country remaining. Bettors are siding with USA (+140) over Ghana (+190) and similar to the other matchup on Saturday, the total is listed at 2 ½ goals with the ‘under’ receiving more action at minus-200. The number seems fair, considering Ghana’s defense is considered one of the best and the Black Stars haven’t scored more than one goal in their last 13 international appearances. Also, USA watched the ‘under’ go 2-1 in its opening three matches. USA will be looking to avenge a 2-1 loss to Ghana in group play of the 2006 World Cup, which eliminated the Americans.

Sunday, June 27

Germany vs. England
Group Results

Germany 4 Australia 0 – Win
Germany 0 Serbia 1 – Loss
Germany 1 Ghana 0 – Win

England 1 USA 1 – Draw
England 0 Algeria 0 – Draw
England 1 Slovenia 0 – Win

Betting Notes: This first round matchup is arguably the toughest to predict and the oddsmakers have been adjusting to both squads. Germany (+170) is a slight underdog to England (+155) and some pundits believe the game could be a draw (+220). After exploding for four goals against Australia in the opener, the Germans were held to just one goal in their last two. England’s offense was missing in group play (2 goals) but the defense only gave up one goal and that was a gaffe in the opener against USA that should never have scored. The total is listed at 2 ½ goals (Under -200). The two rich soccer countries have met 27 times, with England winning 12, Germany taking 10 to go with five draws. The past two encounters saw final scores of 2-1, as each country earned a win.

Argentina vs. Mexico
Group Results

Argentina 1 Nigeria 0 – Win
Argentina 4 South Korea 1 – Win
Argentina 2 Greece 0 - Win

Mexico 1 South Africa 1 – Draw
Mexico 2 France 0 – Win
Mexico 0 Uruguay 1 – Loss

Betting Notes: Argentina has been made a healthy favorite (-250) over Slovakia (+700) and deservingly so. Diego Maradona and his troops have outscored opponents 7-1 during its perfect 3-0 group play run and are poised to be a serious threat in the knockout round. Mexico advanced with four points and three of them came against a France team that imploded once it landed in South Africa. Ironically, this pair met on the same stage of the knockout round in the 2006 World Cup from Germany and Argentina escaped with a 2-1 win over Mexico, with the game-winner coming in extra time. The draw cashed tickets that day and is listed at plus-315 (Bet $100 to win $315) for this year’s match. Two of three Mexico’s group play matches went ‘under’ the total and Argentina posted a 2-1 ‘under’ mark as well. Sure enough, Bodog has shaded the 2 ½-goal total toward the ‘under’ (-140).

Monday, June 28

Netherlands vs. Slovakia
Group Results

Netherlands 2 Denmark 0 – Win
Netherlands 1 Japan 0 – Win
Netherlands 2 Cameroon 1 – Win

Slovakia 1 New Zealand 1 – Draw
Slovakia 2 Paraguay 3 – Loss
Slovakia 3 Italy 2 – Win

Betting Notes: Netherlands (-250) coasted through group play with a 3-0 record and the Dutch are expected to advance to the quarterfinals when it meets Slovakia (+700). The Dutch haven’t been overly impressive on offense but the defense has surrendered one goal in three games. You could see the Netherlands attack pick up the pace in this spot, since Slovakia has given up six goals in group play, three coming in a loss to Paraguay. Despite that fact, the 2 ½-goal total is leaning towards the ‘under’ (-150).

Brazil vs. Chile
Group Results

Brazil 2 North Korea 1 - Draw
Brazil 3 Ivory Coast 1 - Win
Brazil 0 Portugal 0 - Draw

Chile 1 Honduras 0 – Win
Chile 1 Switzerland 0 – Win
Chile 1 Spain 2 - Loss

Tuesday, June 29

Paraguay vs. Japan
Group Results

Paraguay 1 Italy 1 – Draw
Paraguay 2 Slovakia 0 – Win
Paraguay 0 New Zealand 0 – Draw

Japan 1 Cameroon 0 – Win
Japan 0 Netherland 1 - Loss
Japan 3 Denmark 1 – Win

Betting Notes: Something has to give when Paraguay (+120) and Japan (+225) meet in the first round, since neither team has ever reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup. A defensive battle is expected in this matchup, considering Paraguay has only surrendered one goal so far and Japan has allowed just two. The total is listed at 2 ½ (Under -180).

Portugal vs. Spain
Group Results

Portugal 0 Ivory Coast 0 – Draw
Portugal 7 North Korea 0 – Win
Portugal 0 Brazil 0 – Draw

Spain 0 Switzerland 1 – Loss
Spain 2 Honduras 0 – Win
Spain 2 Chile 1 - Win

PICKS FOR KICKS Today's Best World Cup Bets

United States (+172) vs, Ghana (+197, 2)

The U.S. and Ghana don’t have much time to celebrate their advancement into the knockout stage. The two sides meet each other just two days after finishing up their last group play match.

In a situation like this, bettors need to look closely at team stamina. Which team shows the most energy late in their matches?

It’s got to be the Stars and Stripes. Bob Bradley’s boys have outplayed and outscored their opponents in the second half of their World Cup matches this year.

U.S. fitness coach Pierre Barrieu deserves much of the credit for the Americans’ high energy level in South Africa's high altitudes.

“A lot of the work was done prior to the tournament,” Barrieu told ESPN.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will have the support of the African crowd but they’ve failed to impress much in any of their three matches. Worse still, one of the nation’s best players, midfielder Sulley Muntari, hasn’t seen much playing time in South Africa because he and Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac don’t get along.

Pick: United States

Uruguay (-104) vs. South Korea (+380, 2)

In one match, we go by stamina as the deciding factor and in another we dismiss it. South Korea always has one of the highest work rates of any national football team but that won’t be enough against Uruguay.

The Celeste have yet to surrender a goal at the World Cup and their offensive attack is a perfect fit for star striker Diego Forlan. Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez switched from a two- to three-forward lineup following his team’s 0-0 draw against France and the adjustment has been nothing short of brilliant.

The South American team has outscored opponents 4-0 since the match against France and is only looking more comfortable as the tournament progresses. The Celeste had to play over 20 matches to qualify for the World Cup and they beat Israel and Switzerland in friendlies back in March.

Pick: Uruguay

Hondo

Hondo made a huge move on the deficit last night when his victories with the 'Stros and Metamucils greatly overwhelmed his setback with the Jays to lower the nasty numeral to 920 bostocks.

Today, he'll go with the American Idle over San tana, who might be slightly distracted by revelations about his swinging on the golf course. Ten units on the Twins.
